Shanghai Research Institute of Materials

Shanghai Research Institute of Materials (SRIM), with splendid career since its foundation in 1946, is a polytechnical research organization with a large scale and an advanced level for materials engineering and application. With the reforming in-depth of the scientific and technical system reformation in China, since July 1999, the institute has being launching out on a new developing period, in which it, integrating with " Shanghai Institute of Energy Research", has being transformed to a high-tech enterprise group. SRIM will put more emphasis not only on strengthening a R & D system and technical service system orientated to the market needs with vital innovation in the material engineering field, but also on establishing and improving a business and production system, consisted of sub-companies, shareholder companies and production bases, aiming at promoting commercialization of the R&D achievements.
